Bread & Crescent Rolls
This is great for a savory or sweet treat and can be used as a dessert or an additional side to your dinner plans. Tear your refrigerated dough into strips or triangles and wrap around a roasting stick. Make sure it’s on securely and head over to your firepit for cooking. When roasting over the fire, be sure to turn consistently and avoid any extremely hot spots – you want to get an even, golden cook for the best results!
After your dough has been thoroughly cooked, take it off the heat and cover in your choice of toppings. Our favorites are butter and herb seasoning for a more savory bread roll or with butter, cinnamon, and sugar to make a campfire churro!
S’mores with a Twist
Everyone loves the traditional s’more with a graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate. But there’s so many fun ways to dress up this classic treat!
Replace the graham cracker with a cookie or other delicious sandwich layer. Anything with chocolate already baked in can make for easier eating and clean up later on!
You can also get creative with the types of chocolate you combine. Chocolate peanut butter cups, almond bars, dark chocolate, and chocolate mint bars make for flavorful substitutions!
Start by cooking your marshmallow over the fire with the roasting stick of your choice. Once your marshmallow is to your liking (we recommend a deep golden brown!), remove from heat and combine with your desired toppings. Enjoy!
Marshmallow or ash left on your roasting stick after you’re done? You can use your incinerator to help clean up! Hold the stick over the heat until the residual mess cooks off; wait for the metal to cool and then wipe clean.
Chocolate Eclairs
A Burn Right family favorite, chocolate eclairs made over the open flame are dessert we know you’ll love as much as we do! This recipe requires crescent roll dough, vanilla pudding, and chocolate frosting, but these ingredients can be switched out for whatever you find most appealing. Chocolate pudding also makes a great filling!
Using a 1-inch wooden dowel or wooden broom handle, wrap the tip with aluminum foil and spray with your choice of cooking spray. Using rectangles of crescent roll dough, wrap securely around the tip and squeeze tightly to ensure there are no holes or air pockets. Roast over your fire until the dough is cooked thoroughly, aiming for a golden-brown color. You will need to turn occasionally to ensure proper cooking.
Once your dough is cooked, remove from the heat and pull your crescent from the wooden dowel. Slide onto a plate and fill with your choice of pudding before covering with frosting. Enjoy, and get ready to make another (you’ll definitely want one)!
